More
about diodes, BJT, JFET, Photodetectors, Inductors and Transformers and such!
-
You need to review this site
Electronic
symbols. Later you will have to draw a schematic/block
diagram using such symbols
from a power supply that you will reverse engineer.
This is a
sample of a schematic diagram. Do a search and locate a
block diagram of some electronic or system automation. Provide the URL where
you found one.
Research:
What is a BJT? (not just what the
acronym stands for but what is it?)
What is a FET? (not just what the acronym stands for but what is it?)
How is a BJTand FET
different?
What
is MOSFET? (not just what the acronym stands for but what is it?)
What is a JFET? (not just what the acronym stands for but what is it?)
Review the following sites for an
explanation. Also be prepared to discuss this
in class.

- I will pass out to each student a specific device that needs to be identified.
You are expected to share verbally (visually) what you have found out
about your device with the class.
- There will be a time when you need to replace an electronic a part that is
defective in some manner .. burnt out or just failed and has to be replaced.
What is the part ... how does it work ... what may substitute for the part if
anything? How would you go about finding out all about the part? answer
... research. Where would you research?
